BBC bosses, desperate to find a winning formula to attract intelligent viewers are lining up Britain's unfunniest man, Russell Brand, to host a new satirical, current affairs show.

The working title for the show is "Brand's Gaffe fest" with a similar format to "have I got news for you" the hugely popular game show from a few years back.

There will be two teams who take it in turns to comment on current affairs with points awarded for comments receiving the most complaints. The pilot programme will feature Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, former US President, George Bush and Prince Phillip. Other possible guests include Murray Walker, Susan Boyle and Hugo Chavez.

The format will build on the huge success Brand and his best friend Jonathan Ross had, when they attracted 85,000,000 complaints by not being funny on the Ross' former radio show.

Asked to confirm his new role, Russell brand said "I shaggy waggied a catty watty" before leaving to have lunch with the Yorkshire ripper and Ant & Dec.

Make Ricardo Fromage's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
