What really happened to David Hasselhoff this past weekend is that he had a few drinks and wasn't drunk as a skunk as he looked in the newspaper photographs.
Friends say he simply wasn't feeling well after the drinks and had to go to the hospital.
"His ex, Pamila Bach, tried to make it appear as if David had fallen off the wagon", stated another party goer.
"Actually, he almost fell off the wheelchair we placed him in before loading him up in a friend's car. The only reason he was singing was to show everyone he was OK."
Whatever happened, it was at the home with his daughter Hayley and there was a squabble.
"David had been drinking but nowhere near the level that his ex is painting it. The Hoff had not been feeling well, and the illness, probably the Swine Flu, combined with all that...I mean, a few drinks of alcohol, made a trip to the hospital the wisest choice, especially with all that Swine Flu about."
"David skipped part of the way to the car but then fell, so someone got a wheelchair from somewhere and he was driven to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, not in the wheelchair, in the car. He had not passed out, contrary to reports. You can't be passed out and be singing about "The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald".
The hospital says that Hasselhoff was walking on his own power and was released today.
"Hasselhoff is fine, though he regrets drinking until he came down with the Swine Flu", stated a source.
"David's ex, Pamela Bach, has got her panties in a wad", stated the source. "None of that stuff on those cheesy internet sites were right. You can tell when someone's story just doesn't ring true."
