The pup that had been hospitalized and finally quarantined for more than a week fighting off the potentially life-threatening disease of Swine Flu, which apparently recently killed Winfrey's other new puppy Ivan, who was Sadie's littermate.
"We didn't identify Ivan with Swine Flu because it usually only hits hogs and humans", stated veterinarian, Kay Gooseflesh, a native American who specializes in small animals. "It wasn't until all this Swine Flu news came out that we checked for it."
Last week, Winfrey delivered a positive update on the dog's health on her daily show and Sadie remained stable over the weekend, a Harpo spokeswoman said.
"She was on plasma replacements and four antibiotics and she's been through a lot," said Winfrey, adding that Sadie still didn't "have her little puppy personality back yet."
"Her tail is still curly and she grunts a lot but all the squealing has stopped."
