London radio presenter, James O'Brien, got into hot water when he started slagging-off Chelsea and England footballer Frank Lampard on his programme today.
O'Brien took calls on his LBC phone-in show about Lampard, and about how the player has split up with his girlfriend, and now lives separately to her and his two children. O'Brien called Lampard "weak" and "scum".
Meanwhile, in another part of the universe, Lampard's sister was listening to the chaos unfolding, and rang Frank to tell him the news. The midfielder swung into action and decided to add his voice to the debate.
Lampard challenged the presenter over his choice of words, and told him that his wife and children were safe in a Fulham flat that he, himself, was paying for, and not in cramped conditions, as his wife had alleged elsewhere.
The public row coincided with the anniversary of the death of Lampard's mother, Pat, who died last year of pneumonia.
"Let me tell you something now, my mother died a year ago today, which has been a huge impact on my life, my family's life and my sister's life. And unfortunately that's had a huge impact on my relationship at home.
"I wish I could do a lot about that, but unfortunately I can't do nothing about that.
"But I find it insulting that you're telling me you would fight tooth and nail and insinuating that I wouldn't fight tooth and nail. That's what I've spent time doing. You don't know anything about me."
O'Brien is known as a 'shock-jock' and has refused to apologise for the choice of topic on this morning's show, because he is an absolute f*cking tosser.
