Michelle Obama presented France's first lady with a musical instrument when they met in the city of Strasbourg on Friday.
Mrs. Obama gave Carla Bruni-Sarkozy a Gibson acoustic guitar, says the Associated Press.
Their face-to-face meeting was a fashionable one: Mrs. Obama sported a belted black coat, while Bruni-Sarkozy (a former model) wore a fuschia-toned camel coat.
One reporter, who slipped behind when the others left, stated Carla then told Michelle, "What the beeping beep is wrong with that snobby husband of yours? Why would I want to kiss the big-eared jackass?"
Michelle became very upset at this and told the French first lady that her husband thought he was doing the right thing but the French have all these screwed up gestures of welcome.
Whereupon the French first lady gave Michelle a small slap and stated that was for "the French people who had thousands of years of doing AND knowing what is proper."
Michelle then shook her fist in Carla's face and asked if the French knew THIS gesture and gave her the bird.
Carla then turned away and said she would only speak in French from then on and smashed the guitar on a meter. But stopped suddenly when a French cameraman appeared, stopped and handed the man some money, made a shhhh-ing gesture and stated, "Whoops, I have dropped the gibbon guitar."
