image for Slumdog - further scandal

Hot on the heels of allegations over the wellbeing of the child actors appearing in the film, the makers of Slumdog Millionaire have been propelled into a new controversy.

While it was suggested that the Slumdog actors were returned to their previous life of poverty, it now emerges that this is not the first time that the makers have treated actors with such contempt.

Some of the original cast of Trainspotting, the 1996 film about the Edinburgh Drug scene, still actually live in Scotland. I found one of the Trainspotting actors, who prefers to remain nameless, in a penthouse in central Glasgow.

He told me, "Basically it's disgusting, I feel used and abused. The film was a fantastic success but many of the actors who made big contributions to that success have been deserted in these wastelands. I'm wasn't surprised when I heard about those poor kids in Slumdog Millionaire being returned to a life of despair, as it happened to many of us 10 years before."

Make Charles Letterman's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
