Teen queen, Brenda Song and Twilight hottie Rob Pattinson have vowed to stay virgins till marriage. The teen sensations wear purity rings, Brenda and Rob, both 19, reportedly wear metal bands on their fingers to symbolize. Rob thinks of it as, "a promise to myself and to God that I'll stay pure till marriage."
Rob's "squeaky clean" image was tarnished last month after he posed provocatively on CQ Magazine's cover, appearing semi-nude. He has received a lot of criticism every since. Rob's Twilight co-star has also tarnished her supposed "squeaky clean" image by smoking pot.
Brenda recently said: "I got my promise ring. It's pretty awesome. It's pretty rock and roll. I think that teenagers think of sex as a fun game, when in reality it truly isn't. Sex is not a game it is a very difficult thing, it's about falling in love and trusting your partner. Being in a commitment like marriage. My mother got pregnant when she was 16 years old, and she tried her best to warn me about the huge consequences of sex. I admire her, she is a very strong person. I will never ever think about having sex before marriage. It's a very sinful act."
Rob also said: "My purity ring means a lot to me. It's a promise to myself and to God that I'll stay pure till marriage. Many girls stalk me every week, they think that sex is a easy fast thing when it truly isn't. Sex takes time and requires love. I won't have sex before marriage because marriage is an important thing, it's a commitment like sex."
He also added, "These teen girls who are getting pregnant every day should get some help. They don't know the consequences of sex, they think that it's fun. Many teenagers today are just really influenced by the media and how the media picture sex to be, glamorous and fun like in Sex and the City. But that is only showing a positive fictional side of sex."
