Despite the color of his exterior, "Barney the Dinosaur" has been feeling quiet blue lately. The 'purple one' is said to be struggling to make ends meet in today's poor economy, making this one hard year for everyone's favorite dinosaur.
Tuesday night, a rep. for the adorable eight foot tall T-rex made a statement that Barney will be entering a rehabilitation center that deals with depression.
Barney's career peeked back in 1994 on the PBS network, when all kids between the ages of one and fourteen (admit it) were all the craze for the loveable daytime dino who taught them about manners, the colors of the rainbow, and much more. In fact, most people know of Barney today for his ever popular theme song "I Love You".
When asked about the situation in person, Barney told us, "It's just really hard for me right now to make ends meet. It's a struggle, not only for myself, but for Babybop as well. She cries all day because she can't even afford to buy apples or bananas.
"I hope to be getting more job opportunities"
Barney hasn't been working since early 2004, but we hope he gets back on track, making daytime TV a little less painful for stay at home parents who can just plant their kids in front of their television sets and let Barney take care of the rest.
