image for Disney signs Cannes winner Michael Moore to direct ABC Celebrity Wife Swap

ORLANDO - Disney Studios, producer of the upcoming ABC reality show, Wife Swap, is currently in production with another program that could well capture a lion's share of Neilson ratings: Celebrity Wife Swap.

The House of Mouse -well known for its many popular animated characters, corporate support of same-gender partnership benefits and the wackiest chief executive ever to grace a board meeting-- has high hopes for Celebrity Wife Swap. To wit, they have chosen to film all episodes in exotic locales and recent Cannes winner, documentarian Michael Moore, has been hired as the show's director.

"Our series debut will star Kobe and Vanessa Bryant swapping with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett," said Moore, "and planned eps include the Sean Penns, the Mel Gibsons and, of course, the Madonnas."

Many celebrity couples are scrambling to be included, Moore says, and he added that Howard Stern and Anna Nicole Smith are "considering quickie marriages just so they can be on the show."

Disney, Moore and ABC have high hopes for Celebrity Wife Swap and will also film a special segment featuring common-law partners Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell swapping with Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon in a romantic Swedish location.

To remain in stride with their lust for controversy, Disney also plans to tap the gay/lesbian market with two spin-off reality series, Lesbian Partner Swap and Queer Swap for the Sweet Fop. In all versions except the original Wife Swap, sex will be allowed and encouraged.

When located for comment, Mickey Mouse stated, "It's innovative and risky, and that spells Disney."

Mouse said that a special episode is planned starring the Michael Eisners swapping with the Brad Pitts but he added that the show "will not be aired."

"You know the leader of the hit that's made for you and me," Mouse added. "M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-O-R-E."
