Bob has been in and out of prison during his troubled times.

Children's favourite, Bob the Builder appeared on This Morning to tell stunned viewers that he was recovering from drug addiction. A pale and emotional Bob told presenter Philip Schofield that the last year has been hell.

'I have lost a number of building contracts and as a result, my business is in grave danger of going under as a result of my actions and my dependency on drugs and bourbon.'

Bob, his voice faltering continued 'I have put Wendy, my close friend through a great deal of pain and I have done things that I am thoroughly ashamed of. Wendy has been my rock and I want to say now, how much I am indebted to her.'

Wendy dressed in a Gucci suit said 'This is still very much early days for Bob. He's been clean for 8 weeks now and we just take each day as it comes.'

Unbeknown to fans, Bob spent 3 weeks at the famous Priory Clinic in South West London where he spent time with Pete Doherty and Kerry Katonia where they held 'heart to heart' sessions.

It's still early days for Bob but he is determined to beat his demons and is planning to write his warts and all autobiography which is already set to be the best seller of 2008.
