Hollywood- With the "Passion of the Christ" box office going through the roof everyone is trying to cash in with their own spin-off. Now Irish director Paddy O'Fernachure has come out with his own passion.
"The Passion of the Patrick" is the story of a man who suffered for us so we have an excuse to get drunk once a year. Betrayed by his only friends the leprechauns, you will feel St. Patrick's pain as he is dragged through the shamrocks, beaten with the Blarney Stone, and forced to eat rancid corn beef. You will be moved to tears to see St. Patrick cure even the most hideous hangovers. Christ would be green with envy at this man voted second favorite saint of all time only behind St. Nicholas by the Christian Science Monitor saint poll.
Reviews so far have been harsh. Most critics point to the gratuitous vomit scenes, weak special effects, and the liberties taken with the facts of Saint Patrick's life. Apparently, Saint Patrick never even knew the leprechauns personally. As a matter of fact, Leprechauns were not discovered until the late 19th Century well after Saint Patrick died.
*This film is entirely in subtitles due to the unintelligible Irish brogue dialogue.
