Hannah Montana teen superstar Miley Cyrus has made a drastic decision regarding her career. Cyrus, 15, said in a press statement earlier this week that she is "tired" of her kiddy pop persona, Hannah Montana.
"I feel as if people don't know the 'Miley' side of me, the real side." Says Cyrus, "Everyone's so caught up in Hannah Montana. What happens when I'm 25? I can't play Hannah dress up my entire life. Hannah Montana is too young for me, I've outgrown her. Maybe I need a new persona."
Disney Channel, surprisingly, seems to agree with the teen pop idol. Her show, "Hannah Montana," will wrap up its final season, thanks to this decision, and Miley will focus on her new singing career, as her new "persona," an unnamed new character she will be taking on.
"My new persona will be sort of like a punk, like Avril Lavigne. She'll sing all about how fun it is to be a wild chick. She'll be aimed at more the older teens. All I know is that I want her name to be Layney."
"Layney" will be making her debut at Cyrus' June appearance in Orlando, FL.
