image for Alex Smith to leave NFL

Soon to be former 49er Quarterback Alex Smith is planning on retiring from the NFL to follow his true love, Broadway.

"I was recently approached to reprise the role made famous again by Hugh Jackman in 'The Boy from OZ,'" an excited Smith reported.

Many 49er fans have had mixed feelings about this new turn of events. Some with total dismay that this former highly hyped USC standout would go to such lengths to leave his failing NFL career behind. Smith who has never lived up to the hype created when the 49ers wasted a number one draft pick on him back in the earlier 2000s, was looking for a way to save face for himself. When hearing the news the gay community of San Francisco where dismayed to find out that Smith would now be ruining one of their loved past times.

"We used to be 49er fans, but that kid's arm is just gay."

With this being the most common feelings of the San Francisco communities and surrounding areas the only thing I can say is to wish Alex luck in his new career. Break a leg Alex.
