Ashes to Ashes star, David Bowie, has shocked execs at auntie Beeb by sensationally quitting the top show in a row over money.
The laughing gnome is reported to be "brassed off" at the way he's been treated and has jacked it all in.
Speaking from his luxury house-boat, Bowie commented:
"It's a God awful small affair. But the film is a sadd'ning bore and to tell the truth, the never-ending shooting schedule has me knackered"
Bowie's long-time pal, Lulu, is said to be distraught by the news and The Spoof understands that she intends to enlist the services of Sir Paul McCartney to try and talk the troubled star round.
A BBC spokesman said last night:
"And coming up next is Bill with the weather"
This is not the first time that Bowie has been involved in this kind of controversy, as back in 1996 he sensationally quit Eastenders when he and Ian Beale were involved in a stand-off over Dot Cotton.
Meanwhile Bowie's alter-ego Ziggy Marley is said to be puzzled by the entire affair and in a statement just released by his management he says:
"I'm puzzled by the entire affair"
