What a nit! Daily Tosser louse green with envy

Fleet Street, London - (Risible Mess): A journo on the Daily Tosser tabloid has been fired after being unmasked as the envious louse who plagiarised a story published in The Spoof! earlier this year entitled Britney: rehab lice ate my extensions.

Dave Hackjob passed off The Spoof! story as his own bona fide news item just days after it first appeared on the web.

And for good measure he also included excerpts from another of the website's priceless items entitled Britney Spears Shaved Bald Due to Head Lice.

Both The Spoof! stories were posted on Saturday 17 February, the day when Californian singer Britney Spears was spotted in a LA hairdresser's salon frantically shaving her tresses ahead of a mandatory drug test connected with her divorce hearing.

The Spoof! authors responsible even commiserated with each other about the synchronicity, along the site's time-honored 'spoof-minds-think-alike' tradition.

But at the Daily Tosser Hackjob took just a few days to sell the idea as his very own.

The re-vamped and plagiarised story then suddenly sprang up on the UK's ITV Lunchtime News on 21st February.

By early evening the story was published as a genuine piece of investigative journalism in a major London evening paper, a sister-publication to Hackjob's paper.

The next day four leading UK tabloids ran the ripped-off news item which was then hastily syndicated to over 100 leading newspaper websites around the world.

And by the end of February more than 300 blogsites also carried the item as Hackjob's original, astonishing revelation.

Today in London Dave Hackjob got his comeuppance.

A team of private investigators working pro bono for the Spoof! author most plagiarised by the Daily Tosser uncovered the web of deceit and unmasked the villain.

Hackjob's employers were offered an opportunity to back their man in a court of law copyright suit or to let him go to pastures greener.

The mean-assed tosser collected his P45 and pension entitlement chits last Friday.

His only-known photograph is published here with this story.
