HOLLYWOOD, CALIF.-Superstar rocker Kid Rock says he is in the process of changing his name after an embarrassing incident with nemesis musician Tommy Lee. The two have been at each others' throats both figuratively and literally since a recent falling out during a backstage party in Los Angeles. The two had to be held apart and escorted out of the party, but not before Lee screamed at Rock to "Grow up and stop acting like a child."
According to sources close to Rock that comment in particular was hard for the singer to take and that he remained very contemplative for several days after the incident.
"The thing is," said Cid Lible, one of Rock's closest partying buddies, "The Kid took that insult from Lee like a bullet. He's no young man anymore and so he told me he was thinking about changing his name to Adult Rock. The idea is that perhaps his new persona would be a catalyst for change, in a good way. I just told him that a name by any other spelling is still a name. Lots of people change their names in this business - look at Axel Rose, that's not his real name and look where he is… well that's a bad example I guess, but bottom line is I told Kid - I mean Adult - that whatever his first name is is pretty much irrelevant as long as he doesn't lose the ROCK! You know what I mean, dude? ROCK ON!!!"
Lee and Rock have a lot in common including a relationship with former Bay Watch actress Pamela Anderson who commented that the fighting between the two men was "making all of them look ridiculous," but then again so does that fact that two drugged out, alcoholic, middle aged men covered in tattoos and wearing designer clothes are getting in fist fights like high schoolers.
