Britain's funniest and most gifted comedian, Ricky Gervais, has sensationally admitted that he is not funny in light of the recent Concert for Diana debacle.
Speaking exclusively to The Spoof last night over a Guinness Gervais said, "It was all a sham. The Office was supposed to be a serious socio/political commentary on class divide. When the BBC got hold of it, they decided it would be better as a comedy. I just didn't get it. It wasn't funny to me. David Brent wasn't funny. But for some reason, people seemed to think he was funny because he was not funny. When it was revealed that I wasn't funny during the Concert For Diana concert I was like...what did you people expect?"
When asked what he intended to do now that his comedy career was over, Gervais stated, "I am going to do what I should have done in the first place. Drive a bus." I spat out my mouth full of lager and slapped Gervais on the back. "HA ha, you really are a funny guy." I said.
"I'm not joking" Gervais said. But there was no stopping me. I was rolling around on the floor in laughter. Gervais stood up and left the pub. I was kicked in the ribs and had my wallet stolen.
