FORMER Spurs winger Ruel Fox last night delivered a touching tribute to deceased children's entertainer Rod Hull by unveiling an iron effigy of him in his back garden.

The retired footballer was distraught when he heard of Hull's spectacular demise as he tried to get a better reception from his telly on the roof five years ago.

The 37-year-old immediately started work on an iron sculpture of Hull's infamous Emu attack on TV presenter Michael Parkinson and, after years of toil, his masterpiece is finally complete.

Guest of honour Grotbags unveiled the statue to a large crowd of footballers and stars from the world of kids telly yesterday.

Dave Benson Phillips, host of Get Your Own Back, said: "It's a very nice gesture from Ruel. I used to really hate him because I'm an Arsenal fan but this gesture is first class."

Fox was too emotional to comment stating that the statue conveyed his "true feelings for Rod".
