Picabo, Idaho (The Daily Spud) - Move over, methamphetamine epidemic. The latest craze is frighteningly more common and three times as addictive.

Brought back in popularity partially due to the recent digitally-remastered release of the 1980's classic science fiction film 'Altered States', Sensory Deprivation is once again on the rise.

Isolation Tanks are becoming common fixtures in homes as jobless rates go up and retiring baby-boomers look for ways to fill their empty days.

"We have seen empty-nesters and helicopter-parents whose kids have left for college, along with their children," said the director of one treatment center. "Entire families' lives are being destroyed. We have termed it the 'silent almost-killer'."
