London - (Ass Mess): Women have ruined the BBC according to Sir Patrick Moore.
Their 'terrible programmes' are a blight upon the UK TV licence payer and they must be abolished pronto.
The octogenarian astronomer said the corporation needed to revert to the 'golden days' when the news was ruined by men with impeccable English.
Moore said television had got worse because the BBC is now run by women "and it shows - soap operas, cooking, quizzes, kitchen-sink plays.
"You wouldn't have had that in the golden days of 'Crackerjack', 'Wogan', 'Dixon of Dock Green'... and of course 'Panorama'."
Moore then went on to compare EastEnders to diarrhoea and Casualty to 'the clap'.
"When the Tories win the next general election we'll have a fully segregated broadcastring corporation," Moore told the TV Times.
"I would like to see two independent wavelengths - one controlled by men, and one for us, controlled by men," he said.
"All the really interesting programmes like 'The Sky at Night' are screened far too late at night.
"Where are the glory days of Star Trek, of Captain James T Kirk and Captain Jean-Luc Picard?
"Replaced by some politically-correct Captain Janeway and her cohort Seven of Nine.
"I used to watch Star Trek but the women commanders just got right up my nose.
"Women in charge of Star Ships? My arse!"
