Director Sam Raimi and Marvel/Spider-Man creator Stan Lee are currently in talks with Columbia Pictures and first movie script writer David Koepp about making a fourth movie. However, if such a thing is to happen, leading actor Tobey Maguire will not be a part of it.

"You know, it's just one of those things that just has to be let go," Maguire stated. "I realized that these movies have pulled in millions of dollars, but I mean, the Spider-Man series is all but dead for me. I really have no obligations to Sam Raimi, Stan Lee, or Columbia Pictures to make a 4th movie. And that's that." He refused to speak even further.

That leaves casting manager Dick Fukum without a lead role. But wait! Sources indicate that Fukum has already chosen a lead role. The actor? Star of the soon-to-be released movie The Condemned and WWE superstar "Stone Cold" Steve Austin!

In an exclusive interview with TheSpoof.com, here's what Steve Austin had to say about the role:"You know, it's actually a pretty good feeling to be playing a comic book hero {chuckle}." When no one else laughed, he continued. "I grew up reading Spider-Man, I watched all the shows, I have drawings up on my wall, I'm simply put, a Spider-Man fanatic. For me to be playing Spider-Man, my idol, I would have to say it's a pretty d**n good feeling. I have waited 6 years since my acting career started to play a comic book hero like Spider-Man, and now my dream is coming true."

With The Condemned hitting theatres in a mere matter of days, Austin still claims he'd rather be Spider-Man getting to zip around New York saving people, than Jack Conrad fighting for his live on a deserted island filled with 9 other death-row convicts.

Make CJ Carter's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)
