James Cameron has been given the green light from Fox to begin principle photography for his new feature film Avatar.
The film is going to be a 3D computer generated, live action, motion capture film based on an idea Cameron conceived 11 years ago.
The films story revolves around humans fighting an alien race through remote control.
This is the first film to be helmed by Cameron in almost a decade. The last productions produced by Cameron were the television show, Dark Angel, and the Titanic deep dive specials.
Insiders revealed the enormous budget is because Fox and Cameron have decided to side step the pesky box office all together. "If we make the budget large enough we won't have to worry about such unpredictable variables such as peoples opinions or likes and dislikes. offered a Fox executive, The film will make money off the interest on the budget alone".
"James is notorious for busting out the budget to begin with, we just decided to go with the flow on this one. We figure 1.8 billion should keep him within budget parameters", said one Fox accountant.
