New York City - Saturday Night Live had their skit for 'Bad Idea Jeans.' Some ideas, even if they worked okay the first time, are just bad ideas the second time around.
The latest example of this skewed thinking is the return of Rosie O'Donnell to "The View" on ABC. The show sucked when she was on it, it sucked after she left, and will continue to suck even harder after her return.
Famous for her catfights with former co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck, "The View" is currently looking for the shows next conservative punching bag.
With Rosie, skin color not-withstanding, and Whoopi, the show will now feature two loud-mouthed, obnoxious, sassy black women on their panel.
When David Lee Roth tried to come back to Van Halen, the spark wasn't there the second time around. Diamond Dave couldn't pull off the high notes or the ass-less chaps from yesteryear.
Arsenio Hall tried to make a comeback this year but was cancelled after just one season. No really, his show was back on the air! Did you miss it?
The problem is that after the first go round, the public feels they have already 'been there, done that.' It's time for something fresh.
Rosie will do nothing but bring her combative attitude back to the show for some shock value and an attempt to give the show sound bites they can circulate on social media for publicity.
The same result would take place if Hillary were to end up in the White House again. The country would be going backwards. We've seen enough of Rosie and we've seen enough of the Clintons. Give us something new.
Our attention spans are short and they, in Rosie's case, boar us already.
Come on, people! Let's get creative. We can do better than them and we deserve better than them!
