Kylie Minogue has reportedly made a statement about the attempted bribery of a disabled person last week.
It is reported that Miss Minogue, who is 46 years of age, was at a book signing at a local mall when a mobility scooter with police equipment fitted arrived at the event. Kylie reportedly offered a bunch of flowers she had been given by a fan of hers (Kylie fans are known as 'lovers' on Kylie's Twitter page) to the disabled person, who produced his police ID and badge and announced that Miss Minogue was under arrest for bribing a police officer.
Kylie has made a statement to police denying any involvement in the matter.
Her sister Dannii has flown to Brisbane from the UK to support her sister.
'My heart goes out to my big sister Kylie,' Dannii said at a press conference. 'She was doing what she had wanted to do, and to be treated like that by the police is just shocking, just shocking.'
Their brother Brendan also offered his support. 'My sister Kylie has dealt with worse, and I'm sure the allegations of bribery will prove unfounded and she will return to being the smart, funny, happy, talented person she is, being able to put this all behind her and continue on with what she does best.'
The investigation is ongoing.
