Top-rated show Australia's Got Talent is to be axed at the end of the 2014 season, a top Network 10 executive said on Monday.
The show will be axed and replaced with re-runs of Home and Away, Neighbours, and their sister soapies in the UK, Hollyoaks, Eastenders and Coronation Street.
When asked for comments, one of the Australia's Got Talent judges spoke up against the axing and said that 'it would be an absolute shame to cancel a show that has pulled in ratings for such a long time.'
However, members of the Queensland Police are in favour of the axing, as it allows them to keep focusing on tackling crime and not have to take talentless idiots off the street and give them a home in the local watch-house for a week or more while their cases stand pending in the local courts.
Network 10 have not set a date for the final AGT show to be aired, though speculation has it that the final show will be aired sometime in mid to late June or July.
