Theron with Mandela - She Knows All About Being Black

Chicago, IL - Oprah Winfrey's representative Gail King has issued the following statement, "I, Gail King, Oprah's best friend, announces that Charlize Theron will play Oprah in the upcoming HARPO Produced autobiographical movie, My Best Friend is Called Gail".

The casting of the Oprah character has been in the pipeline for almost two years and it has become as complex as David O Selznick's search for Gone With the Wind's Scarlett O'Hara in the 1930's. Thousands of hopefuls have auditioned for Winfrey, including Queen Latifah, Janet Jackson and Johnny Depp. But it was Charlize Theron who caught Oprah's eye when she saw her playing bongo drums with their mutual chum Nelson Mandela. It has been reported the similarities between Oprah and Theron were like a punch to the head.

Theron has commented, "I am so glad Oprah could see through my skin colour and that she has confidence in my knowledge of the acting craft. I have been Aileen Wuornos, I can be Oprah!"

Hollywood commentators are touting this performance as an ideal Oscar opportunity and the rumour mill estimates Charlize's pay check for the role will be in the vicinity of $85Billion, small bikkies when one considers Oprah's fortune.

The search is now on for an actor to capture Gail King, Oprah's best friend. Insiders say King has been seeking a meeting with Jennifer Aniston and Hollywood waits with bated breath.
