Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch was found clinging to a lamp post in London last night, blabbing about the plots in the upcoming third series of Sherlock.
The BBC has had him arrested and held by the police until he sobers up. This has caused uproar among civil liberties groups and also Sherlock fans who are finding the wait for the new series (season) unbearable. For those who do not want to hear the spoilers, please read no further.
By Piecing together the reports of various onlookers, I have managed to arrive at a rough idea of the next series.
It seems that Mrs Hudson's estranged husband, while serving a life sentence in the US, escapes to wreak vengeance on Sherlock. Sherlock, of course, was the one that helped to get him convicted at Mrs Hudson's behest.
Realizing that he is no criminal genius, he seeks help. He manages to locate Moriarty's brother Malcolm. Malcolm, like his brother, is also as crazy as a box of frogs, and works as an inner city planner.
Between them they concoct a brilliant plan to involve Sherlock in an accident, where due to Malcolm's job they delay the emergency services, leading to Sherlock's death and in the process covering their tracks.
In another episode called "A Case of Missing Identity" Sherlock is stalked by a competitor who solves the cases before him. Is Mycroft involved?
The co-creators of the series are of course denying these reports and say that all this speculation is nonsense. Surprisingly, when Benedict emerged bleary-eyed from his cell, there was a smile on his face. Is this all part of a diabolical plan?
At any rate, the game is afoot!
