Star of Noel Edmonds' Saturday night show "Noel's house party", Mr Blobby, has been arrested by detectives from Operation Yewtree on suspicion of a string of offenses carried out during the 1990s.

Several allegations against the bulbous pink star have surfaced from during the height of his fame in 1993. It has been alleged that he behaved inappropriately by jumping on people unawares and rubbing his body against them in a deeply offensive manner.

Detectives have visited his home in Crinkley Bottom and seized video evidence from the time which purports to show his despicable behaviour.

Contact has been made with a member of the house party production team, who has requested anonymity, but agreed to make the following statement: "We knew it was going on. Every Saturday night was the same, with some poor unfortunate victim finding themselves at the mercy of an over inflated yellow spotted monster shouting 'Blobby! Blobby! Blobby!'. We knew it wasn't right, but he was the star, and we were nobody and no-one listens to nobody".

Sources have also indicated that the enquiry is looking into Mr Blobby's brief dalliance into the pop parade with his number one hit "Mr Blobby" from December 1993. Rumours of a questionable altercation with a Christmas tree during filming of his pop video are being investigated.
