At a news conference today, PBS executives could barely contain their excitement as they provided details about their upcoming new television show PBS Pledge Break! "This is a new direction that will take us beyond great PBS programs like This Old House, Ask This Old House, This Old House In Foreclosure and the History Detectives episode about Lady Bird Johnson's pet beaver," gushed the network's Director of Programming Chestnut Wildebean.

PBS producers say the program will feature "plenty of mundane interviews and meaningless prattle by bland hosts, coupled with lots of great camera shots of people talking on the phone." In addition, Wildebean said those who make a donation receive gifts ranging from shrunken heads to the highly acclaimed DVD program The Chinese Bagpipers at Carnegie Hall. The first episode airs Thursday.
