The Transformers movie trilogy has grossed over $2.6 billion and launched the careers of Meghan Fox, Josh Duhamel and Shia la Bouef.
However, as this reporter discovered, not everyone associated with the films has gone on to bigger and better things.
Vincent Cormino, the actor who played the leader of the autobots, Optimus Prime has recently revealed how he has struggled to find work post the movies.
Cormino is an actual 200ft robot that possesses the ability to transform at will into a 6 tonnes truck. However as this reporter discovered, he also is desperate to be taken seriously as a thespian.
"Maybe I'm a little typecast but I really hoped the transformer movies would be the start of my career, not the end of it', Cormino described.
At the time of the movie, Michael Bay had insisted that he would not use CGI for the robots and spent years scouring the planet for actual robots, that could actually tranform into their vehicle counterparts. To the surprise of everyone in the movie industry, he was actually able to find some.
Since playing the role of Optimus, Cormino has had a number of paint colour changes in deperate attempts to create a new image that may be accepted into some different roles.
"I had been working on a vehicle (-Cormino seemed unaware of the pun-) with Jennifer Anniston about a female driver who falls in love with her truck but the producers gave up on it - said it was never going to get the crowds" the depressed, bright pink robot added.
"It wasn't always like this. When I was starting out as an actor, I just wanted to do Shakespeare. My performance as the 'moor' received rave reviews from auto trader. "
However the fates of the robot actors in the movie have not all been so sorry, Jimmy '11 Tonnes' McConey, the giant robot actor that player Megatron in the films quickly found a role in the broadway hit 'Wicked' and is rumoured to be dating Amy Poehler.
It is expected that Cormino will reprise his role as Optimus Prime for the 4th installment of the films.
