LOS ANGELES - In an astounding announcement a spokesperson for Danny DeVito has stated that he and his wife Rhea Perlman will be heading for the big "D" (divorce).
DeVito, 67, who became popular for his role of Louie De Palma on the sit-com Taxi and Perlman, 64, who became well-known for her role as Carla Tortelli on the sit-com Cheers have been married for 30 years.
Famed California attorney Ginger Allred stated that the couple which just happens to be the shortest one in all of Tinsel Town has run into what is known as The Gray Syndrome.
[EDITOR'S NOTE: DeVito is 5-foot-1-inch tall and Perlman is 5-foot even.]
A very close friend of the two, who would only give her initials; Q.F., revealed that she thinks that one reason that the two are divorcing is because Rhea would refer to Danny by the nickname of Shortcakes at least nine times a day.
Danny, who towers over Rhea by a full inch, stated that hearing her call him Shortcakes kind of got old after about the 817th time.
Rhea says that she simply got fed up with Danny's incessant knock-knock jokes which he would spew forth all day.
She said that he even got to the point where he was uttering his knock-knock jokes in Spanish, Yiddish, and Dutch West Wakaboonkan.
SIDENOTE: The couple's next door neighbor Pedro Calexico, 73, told Tittle Tattle Tonight that he overheard Danny say that Rhea will be hiring the legal services of the Avocado Heights law firm of Gorgonzola, Gomez, & Granolawitz, and that Danny has hired long time friend Bobby Fubblefite of Greater Los Angeles.
