image for Cheryl Cole Comforts Tom Cruise
A half crown coin that Cheryl gave to Tom as a good luck charm.

TARZANA, California - Cheryl Cole took time off from her busy schedule to fly from London to Los Angeles and provide Tom Cruise with two comforting shoulders.

The handsome couple spent the afternoon relaxing at the famed Tarzan & Jane Petting Zoo.

Cheryl knows how depressing going through a divorce can be. She first met Tom when she was dating American Idol's Derek "The Dancing Dude" Hough.

Cole and Cruise had both attended a quinceanera at Simon Cowell's luxuriously exquisite mansion Casa La T-Shirt.

Tom was married to Katie Holmes at the time so he and Chezza, as she is called by family members, close friends, and Queen Elizabeth II, simply played flirty-flirty with their eyes.

At the time Simon, who is known as "The Viceroy of Venom" reportedly told Cheryl that she had about as much of a chance with Tommy Cruise as Wynonna Judd had of passing up an Egg McMuffin.

Cole said that she understood but that she felt that she could still fantasize and that it would not hurt anyone. The two did exchange cell phone numbers, a soap opera type hug, and agreed to be friends across the pond.

FOOTNOTE: Now that Katie has filed for divorce and Tom is going to be on the market, it is quite possible that Cheryl could suddenly find herself taking several more trips to the land of sunshine, palm trees, earthquakes, and enormous celebrity egos.
