New York, NY-- The 72-day marriage of Kim Kardashian has been voted as the most important story of 2011 by the mainstream media. The appearance of Chaz Bono on 'Dancing With The Stars' came in as a close second, followed closely by Global Warming.
Stories about Fukushima, Libya, and #OWS didn't even make it to the mainstream media's top twenty list.
"It was a very boring year, except for Kim Kardashian." said George Stepinapplesalot of ABCD news. "Nothing of interest happened."
George Steninapplesalot and other media outlets consider stories like the Fukushima disaster to be 'too complicated' for the average American to understand.
"Most Americans can't even find Japan on a map, so why bother reporting on the nuclear meltdowns there. People would much rather look at Kim Kardashian's giant ass, or Chaz Bono's strange beard." said George.
Mainstream media experts expect 2012 to be just as dull as 2011.
"There's a presidential election next year, but everyone knows that Obama has already won." said George. "We don't expect anything of interest to happen in the Middle East, unless Kim Kardashian chooses to vacation there."
