LONDON - In order to cut the deficit, Rupert Murdoch, owner of (I don't need to fucking point it out every time, do I? He's Murdoch.) those things, has agreed to buy out Ofcom.
Ofcom (Office for Communications) is the British equivilent of the FCC (although, a little less lax, and a little more sensible), for those who don't know.
The Office was originally a governmental organisation to deal with complaints about TV and radio shows and gives out TV statistics. However, after a £200 billion (US$323bn) deal with News Corp, the organisation will be renamed the Office of Enlightenment.

The organisation will allow the merger of BSkyB with News Corp, effectively having a monopoly over the UK's media outlets. Many rioted in the streets, having thier quality (BBC) programming taken away, and having to actually pay more than the license fee for adverts with shows spliced in.
