image for lt's Tesco - not the benefits office!
It is the usual problem, the systems are scaled for people being sensible!

There has been plenty of time to change the points in the Tesco Big Christmas Exchange deal offered to double the value of points and vouchers held on the Clubcards used by millions of customers.

Some people did with ease. They bought their bargains and were very pleased. With Tesco 'giving' money away, lots of people want it, but they left it to the last minute and surprise, surprise, they didn't expect to queue and so began to gripe and moan.

Initially, thousands of people faced long queues in stores in order to convert their Clubcard points to vouchers. Many gave up waiting and went to the store's website to do the same, only to find it could not cope with the number of people trying to log on. Upset customers then complained to the store's call centres with the result that many people found it impossible to get through.

It is the usual problem, the systems are scaled for people being sensible, but just like with tax forms, the majority leave it until the last second and then complain when there are big queues and the systems are slow.

One smug Tesco Customer said;

    "What's the matter with these people, do they need to get a life? l did, with ease, Read the instructions when you get your vouchers and don't leave it until the last moment. It's Tesco - not the benefits office!"
