Windows announced today that they are going to be changing their name in order to appeal to a broader audience and widen the market share. Windows hit the market in 1983, and since then has captured the imagination of the world with their software. However, during a recent board meeting they have come to the conclusion that windows is not a proper name for the company anymore.
The Chief Executive for Marketing stated " We realized this week that it is impossible to walk through a window. You have to break in - we do not want our customers to break into their operating system. We will be changing the name to Doors, so that consumers will feel that our door is always open to their computing needs. "
Windows has been struggling as of late with Apples rise to power, in addition to the open source movement gaining momentum in the computing world. When asked if windows would ever consider going open source, the same executive stated " No - we will not have an open door policy. "
