Mark Lowton, founder and administrator of the "popular" satire internet site TheSpoof.com has today announced plans to offer the brand as a franchise opportunity to interested parties.
'I believe that the TheSpoof.com is an ideal franchise opportunity for an individual who : a) is properly motivated, b) has loads of spare time and cash and c) is a tad gullible', said Mark earlier today.
Mark was keen to emphasize the financial rewards that a potential franchisee might enjoy.
'The initial investment will soon be recouped many times over as a result of the different income streams. Firstly of course, there is the obvious revenue from advertising, which is "substantial" in it's own right. Secondly, there are the bribes offered by writers to ensure that they consistently remain in the top-ten list, even when they are on a six-month sabbatical to the Himalayas. Thirdly, there is the lucrative sale of material to script-writers and TV and radio production companies, eager for fresh material'.
Mark also pointed out a less obvious advantage to running your own business.
'Power is a strong aphrodisiac', he confided. 'On many occasion, a woman who initially appeared indifferent, quickly warmed to my advances when I mentioned I was a company director!'
Interested parties should submit their declaration of interest no later than 30th September 2010 by e-mail.
Initial investment will be from £30,000 per franchise area, although it is expected that the Hampshire district, which will incorporate the Isle of Wight, will demand a far higher price.
Each new franchisee will also be required to pay over 25% of all turnover for at least 10 years.
Mark Lowton will offer e-mail support to the successful applicants for the initial 2 weeks or until he can book a flight to St. Lucia, whichever happens first.
