Local business in the village of Rothbury have been booming in the wake of its noteriety as the hiding place of Britains most wanted man, Raoul Moat. In the first few hours following the seige and stand off, it was noted that special souvenier mugs, with the sogan "Roul in Rothbury 2010" were on sale.
The entreprenerial locals had already identified a number of niche markets during the police hunt and stand off. Local shops are reported to have brought in extra supplies of camping supplies, dressing gowns, jackets, chicken, bread and fishing rods.
The locals are not the only ones to see the potential in this area. Owners of the London and Edinburgh Dungeons are reported to be looking at the possibility of a new theme park in the storm drains below Rothbury.
