UP--In an announcement earlier today, American Express revealed that after creative differences with current spokesperson Jerry Seinfeld, the comedian would be replaced in the current Superman advertising campaign. The company then shocked everyone by announcing that filling Seinfeld's shoes would be none other than the Prince of Peace himself, Jesus.
"It seemed like a natural fit," said American express spokesperson Patrick Lockheart, " You have Superman who saves people all the time with his super powers, and you have Jesus who pretty much does the same thing. The two make a fantastic team...there's even talk of an NBC sitcom in the works."
When asked if there was any tension working with another hero idolized by billions, Superman shrugged, "I really admire his work. You know, it was fun to work with Jerry, but Jesus is really at a high point in his career right now, what with his movie being such a big hit and everything. You have to respect a guy like that. "
Neither Jesus nor Seinfeld were reachable for comment, but the Lord's publicist said that Jesus is excited for the chance to work with Superman as well as the chance to reach even more people through the medium of television.
