Threeballs's variation on the DeMedici renaissance loan sharking

The worldwide recession has had a big effect on the worldwide web. Online shopping and e-bay auctions are being replaced by virtual pawnshops and online loan sharks.

Paydayjaws lends small amounts of money before to payday to strapped workers at large interest rates. Before the borrowers know it they owe thousands of dollars and their indebtedness just keeps rising. Vinnie "The Shark" Cementshoes told the spoof that his grandfather went to jail for the rates he's charging:' Da computer's a wondaful ting!"

Hockshop and Threeballs have been competing for the pawnshop online market. Desperate people are borrowing pittances for really valuable treasures. Before long they default on the loan and the priceless valuables become the virtual pawnshop's property.

Hockshop's owner, a prominent religious leader told the spoof that his ministry helped materialists relieve themselves of the vane acquisitions that were smothering their spirit.
