Makers of the famous Crispington Round crisp brand have unveiled 3 new flvours, causing much controversy amongst its most die hard fans.
For over 20 years the brand has only had one flavour 'Basics Pate'. Steven Brackets of the consumer group 'Crisps? Yes' explained: 'I think this is totally unacceptable, the beauty of Crispington Rounds is the way it stood up to the bigger brands with their English Cheddar and Red Onion type kettle chips and stuck with basics pate, offering a choice for the no nonsense consumer'.
The 3 other flavours that are to be offered are 'Taste the Difference Still Lemonade', 'No Frills Natural Yoghurt', and 'Soup'.
Crispington Round CEO Geronimo Outs told us 'We thought it was time to branch out and try to increase our profitablility, I mean, who doesn't like soup? Well, my mum doesn't but that's because it plays silly buggers with her dentures but these are crisps and not liquid so that solves that problem right there. In fact our advertising tag line for this particular flavour is going to be 'Dry soup, no mess (apart from crumbs)'.
The flavours will be released in the new year and the ad campaign will be fronted by Kerry Katona. 'She looks like she likes her crisps and we all like a snack whilst having a good old bevvy' Mr Outs told our reporter.
