First election promise down the pan

Washington AC/DC - (BigOil Ass Mess): Newly appointed Obama Administration National Security Advisor General Jones is miffed.

When he takes up his post in January there will be no boardroom dilemma at the Chevron Oil Corporation where he has been a director since May 2008.

For unlike the Bush Administration's first National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, also a former director on the Chevron board, there has never been a Chevron tanker named 'The General Jones'.

"When Condi left Chevron they spent a fortune scratching out the name 'The Condoleezza Rice' on one of their giant supertankers," his spokesman said today, "and replacing it with a new name, 'The Altair Voyager'.

"The general should have stuck around a whole lot longer, maybe!"

Meanwhile President-Elect Obama's spectacular U-turn on the imposition of a BigOil wealth tax means a whole lot of disgruntled US voters no longer have a scapegoat for their feelings of gas-guzzling inadequacies.

"General Jones's got Obama by the short 'n' curlies on that daftass wealthtax," an editorial source on BigOilShagger! magazine commented today.
