Motorists can now drive themselves into Morris&Sons garage where self-service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Customers at Morris&Sons Motors simply queue for the next available inspection pit, pick up a basket containing overalls and tools - and start servicing their own cars.

"It's a really good idea," said 75-year-old Isla Vaspanna, "and it's much quicker. At my age, I hate hanging about waiting for jobs to be done."

Another customer praised the cosiness of the inspection pits. "Especially when me and my boyfriend bring my car in and do it together," said 18-year-old Amy Lovitt. "He likes to check my undercarriage first."

Many women drivers are 'over the moon' with the self-service facility at Morris&Sons. "My husband works away a lot, so I'm really getting into this self-service stuff," said Fiona Fassfingas.

After self-servicing their cars, motorists can move on to the next aisle, containing a wash-room for a self-service on themselves.
