LOS ANGELES - A representative for Japan's Toyota Auto Industry has just let the news media know that they will soon be opening up a brand new Toyota plant in Tijuana, Baja California (Mexico).
Yoshiro Yasukawa stated that Toyota is proud of the new state-of-the-art auto plant which will employ 3,703 workers.
Yasukawa said that the workers will each work for 48 hours straight and then they will be off for 48 hours.
Once the Tijuana auto plant is running at full production it will produce about 1,402 vehicles per week.
Yasukawa was asked what make of vehicles the plant will be manufacturing. He said that it will be putting out the newly developed Toyota El Toro Truck.
He pointed out that El Toro will be capable of getting up to 84 miles per gallon in the city and up to 97 miles per gallon on the highway.
