Swedish based furniture manufacturer Ikea today announced they were no longer going ahead with the proposed multi story car park at their Ashton Under Lyne site in Greater Manchester. The car park which had aroused anger among local residents has now been shelved which is ironic because it was designed along the lines of their best selling Billy Bookcase.

An Ikea spokesmen stated that the plans had been put aside because when building contractors opened the flat pack football field sized cardboard box that the car park had arrived in, some of the components were missing.

The spokesman said to make amends to local residents they along with Manchester City Council will be holding a week long bonfire party. Its the only way we can get rid of the box he said and being Swedish we don't give a monkeys toss about our carbon footprint although we do a nice range of fluffy slippers based on that design which can be found in the market department.

Make Tom Bola's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
