image for Forgotten Elvis Song Becomes Anthem for the Occupy Wall Street Movment
Elvis normally avoided politics

Memphis - A small group camping outside of Graceland, supporting the Occupy Memphis protest, was shocked when a limousine pulled up and womans hand holding a cd emerged. Goldie Bolton took the cd and handed it to a member of their group to play in their cd player.

"What happened next was amazing," said Goldie, "Everyone was on their feet dancing to this song, like we were on a beach somewhere! Then another limo came by and dropped off blankets, bikinis, and beach balls!"

The song titled, No More Money For Nothin', was said to be Elvis' only anti-war song, it was cut from the movie, The Trouble With Girls (1969) which was set in 1927.

NO MORE MONEY FOR NOTHIN'

No More Money for Nothin'
Nothing left for fools
No More Money for Nothin'
Until you finish school
No More money for nothin'
Its time to change the rules

Welll, we burn along baby, until there's nothing left
Yeess, we burn along baby, the worlds a terrible mess
They don't spend it on me or you, its all part of the theft

No More Money for Nothin'
Nothing left for fools
No More Money for Nothin'
Until you finish school
No More Money for nothin'
Its time we changed the rules

Welll they waste it all baby, on their parties and threads
Yeaah they waste it all baby, on their terrible mess
They take all our lives now baby and leave us nothin' instead

No More Money for Nothin'
Nothing left for fools
No More Money for Nothin'
Until you finish school
No More Money for nothin'
Its time we changed the rules

Former Elvis roadie, Virgil Newbury said he heard the song recorded, but remembered it just didn't fit with this movie. "It was before its time, no doubt about it, the establishment was still pretty rough on rebellious lyrics," said Virgil, "The FBI has this song in a file on Elvis, that and Jail House Rock, that was when they started the file on him. They weren't all that smart..."

The rumor is that Priscilla released this song and it has been donated to the cause of OWS, including all download proceeds. Blue Suede Downloads say so far the song has 23,004 downloads worldwide, raising several thousand dollars for OWS. People are dancing in the streets and parks to a new Elvis song, for the first time since I'm a Roustabout, was released by NPR in 2004.
