image for Confusion As Man Thinks Girlfriend Is Going To Ring Him, Whilst She Thinks He Is Going To Ring Her!
It's good to talk

There was a real sense of confusion in Bangkok at the weekend, when a man was kept waiting for hours as he sat by the telephone expecting a call from his girlfriend, whilst, in another part of the city, she waited patiently for him, thinking he was going to call her!

The 'Thai Standoff' as it has become known to one of the two people who know about it, happened when the man, an English 'teacher', finished work and returned home to await the call he thought was going to be the key to an interesting evening's entertainment.

He waited and waited and waited, but nothing happened.

Meanwhile, in a house only a few miles away, the man's girlfriend sat with her phone in her lap, awaiting the call from him that she expected was going to result in 'something titillating' later.

As the hours passed, however, the pair started to suspect other factors wer at work - he thinking she was with another man, and she imagining that he had another woman - and the situation quickly deteriorated.

The pair telephoned each other simultaneously, and, of course, both received an engaged tone, fuelling speculation that the other was talking to 'other persons'. Then, at the very same moment, both set off for the other one's house, determined to expose the acts of infidelity that had suddenly sprung forth from their overactive imaginations.

Both boarded buses, travelling in opposite directions, and when they arrived at each other's homes, they found the properties deserted. With the situation quickly descending into utter chaos, and with the romance-seeking couple literally spitting feathers, the man decided to give her one last chance, and rang her mobile. When she saw his name on her screen, her heart leapt, and she quickly clicked to answer, whereupon the series of coincidences was finally cleared up.

Then they met up and had 'dinner'.
