Canada's race to election day. Conservatives hoping for a majority, Liberals and NDP looking for more votes, and the Bloc Quebecois realizes that they have all the votes they could possibly accumulate.
Stats Canada has put out a statement "We are expecting to have the largest turn out of voters ever seen in this country...the young voters are at an all time high". For years government has been scrammbling with advertising, to try and increase the numbers coming out to cast ballots.
This turnout of young voters is the highest seen percentage in the modern world. Many Canadians attribute this increase to Justin Bieber. Bieber tweeted earlier this week "I am too young to vote. Canada, please vote for me". This sparked the increase of interest in young voters.
Sources tell CBC "The Prime Minister's email has been swamped with messages from those too young to vote... we believe that the youngest child was 5 years old... with the help of her kindergarten teacher, wrote us an email about her views on tax breaks for those in a higher tax bracket".
Young Canadians have been influenced by Justin Bieber. I suppose we could say that Canada is a nation of Beliebers.
