image for Pacific Island Defends Royal Wedding Stamps

The Premier of the Pacific nation of Niue has defended his country's issuing of Royal Wedding stamps, some of which include a perforation line down the middle that splits a photo of the happy couple.

Prime Minister Toke Talagi spoke to the world's press today and vehemently denied that the perforation was intended to suggest that the couple might subsequently separate but rather "the stamps can be split down the middle and used individually".

But, when asked by a US reporter, Talagi was hard pressed to explain the design of another commemorative Royal stamp that features a photo of a Mercedes Benz W140 driving at speed into a tunnel.

Make grimbo's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
