image for Ontarians protest outside Queen's Park, Toronto
C.N. Tower, Toronto. Not far from Queen's Park

Canadian's living in Ontario, are livid at the way their Government wastes money. They protested on the lawns at Queen's Park today, though lawns were covered in snow, they were all wrapped up for the below zero temperature and wind chill factor.

Placards read 'Stop Wasting Our Money', 'Stop wasting your time', 'Do your jobs' and so on.

Apparently, an MP is woking at getting Bill passed that will prohibit t.v. channels who air commercials, from turning up the volume of commercials - which are always much louder than the show's they are interrupting.

Protesters believe it is a sheer waste of taxpayers' money and a waste of Parliament's time to be discussing such a trivial 'item'.

One Ontarian, Chuck McCarthy was interviewed and commented,

"We are NOT idiots! Most of us sit with our remote control in our hand and either 'mute' commercials, go take a leak during commercials, use the 'commercial time' to go grab another beer from the fridge - or - turn the volume down.

This should NOT be taking up our Governments time. There are much more important things they could be attending to, like shutting down illegal Smoke Shops on the Reserves who are selling cheap 'smokes' containing goodness knows what."

We will be keeping our eye on the 'commercials' volume' situation and will also be following the 'smokes' issue.

Make Lady Godiva's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)
